THE BEAR ist das Erstlingswerk von Clara Deitmar, Julius Dorsel und Luzie Kehle – alle ehemalige Studierende des Animationsinstituts der Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. Das Team nahm die Auszeichnung gestern Abend in München entgegen.
THE BEAR ist eine interaktive Experience für Tablets. Zwei Freunde, der Bär und der Kleine, begeben sich auf eine Reise durch ein träumerisches Universum, wo sie gemeinsam Sterne sammeln und Geschichten erleben. Bei THE BEAR geht es darum, den intimen und emotionalen Zustand kurz vor dem Einschlafen wieder für sich zu entdecken.
Wie ein Traum fühlt sich der Gewinn des DCPs für das Team aus Ludwigsburg an: „Es war total großartig dieses Jahr beim DCP mit dabei sein zu dürfen! Allein die Nominierungen bedeuteten uns unglaublich viel – der Gewinn ist phänomenal. Wir hätten uns keinen besseren Start für unser frisch gegründetes Studio wünschen können.“
Der Deutsche Computerspielpreis ist der bedeutendste Preis für Games in Deutschland und ist mit etwa 800.000 € dotiert. Er wird von der Bundesregierung, vertreten durch das Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Klimaschutz, gemeinsam mit dem game – Verband der deutschen Games-Branche sowie der Stiftung Digitale Spielekultur gGmbH vergeben.
Für Jan Pinkava, Leiter des Animationsinstituts, ist der Triumph beim DCP ein starkes Signal für den Games-Standort Ludwigsburg: „Einfach gesagt: Die Filmakademie befindet sich in Ludwigsburg und Ludwigsburg ist ein wachsender Standort für die Kreativbranche. In unserem Studium der Interaktiven Medien geht es um Inhalte und insbesondere ums Storytelling – es geht um die Wirkung des Kunstwerks und die Aussage dahinter. Deswegen kreieren unsere talentierten Studierenden bedeutsame Arbeiten wie THE BEAR.„ Pinkava fährt fort: „Am Animationsinstitut sind wir stolz auf unsere herausragenden Studierenden und den Beitrag, den sie für die Region leisten.„
THE BEAR ist Teil der Storywelt WORLD OF GRA, ein Universum, das die Macher*innen am Animationsinstitut initiierten. Ein ganz besonderer Meilenstein war hierbei, dass das Team die Visuals und Trailer für die Stuttgart Animated Week 2024 (bestehend aus: FMX – Film and Media Exchange, Internationales Trickfilm-Festival Stuttgart und Animation Production Days) produzierte.
Noch während des Studiums der Interaktiven Medien gründeten Deitmar, Dorsel und Kehle das Studio Mucks! Games unter dessen Namen sie kürzlich THE BEAR veröffentlichten. Das Spiel ist für iOS-Systeme erhältlich.
